Opposition coalition has filed a no confidence motion against the parliament speaker Maseeh for the second time. The motion was filed with signatures from 31 members.
The opposition said that this time they have confidence that the vote will be a success. “Qasim Ibrahim cannot be detained unlawfully. If Qasim is in detention, then it will be easier to win the vote” said a member of the opposition.
Ibrahim Muhammad Solih, the PG leader of MDP said that this time the coalition will win the vote even if they have to vote by raising their feet.
During the previous vote against the speaker, no opposition member was in the parliament floor. The vote was taken with a roll call and 48 MPs of the ruling coalition voted against the no confidence motion.
