Deputy Leader of JP, Abdullah Riyaz have said that JP has notified the attorney general of Maldives about the unlawful detention of Qasim Ibrahim.
Speaking to the press, Riyaz said that Qasim is being detained at Dhoonidhoo unlawfully and that he calls the police to release Qasim immediately.”In acccordnce to the Maldives Law, there is no difference between Judge Abdulla’s arrest and Qasim’s. It is the duty of concerned authoritie to act same .”
Deputy leader of AP, Ali Zahir said that any action that is done to follow an illegal order will also be illegal. He said that the court order issued to arrest Qasim Ibrahim was unlawful and hence everything else related to the case is unlawful as well.
MDP PG leader Ibrahim Muhammad Solih said that unlawful detention of Qasim Ibrahim by the police is a huge crime and that it would be investigated later. He also asked to release Qasim immediately.
In addition, Farish Maumoon also spoke in the same regard.
