Opposition coalition have said that it is unconstitutional to amend parliament regulations to require signature of 42 MPs to submit a censure motion.

Speaking to the press today, the PG leader of MDP Ibrahim Muhammad Solih said that a committee of the parliament cannot pass any amendments that are unconstitutional and that it cannot even be put on the agenda of the parliament.

He said that the speaker and deputy speaker of the parliament can be removed with a simple majority of the parliament. “votes of 42 members are not required. Only the majority of the members present in the chamber is required” said Iboo.

In addition he said that even in the largest dictatorships of the world, the situation not like this and the situation is worse than that of dictatorships. He said that no matter how many obstacles are posed, the changes people want to bring can be brought.
