Qasim Ibrahim’s legal team has filed cases at HRCM, Police and the Criminal Court regarding the unlawful detention of Qasim Ibrahim.
Hisaan Hussein of Qasim’s legal team said that they filed a case at the criminal court requesting to annul the court order on detaining Qasim, because the order was unlawful. She said that the criminal court has not notified whether they accepted the case or not.
“We requested HRCM to investigate the case and to take immediate actions as per their responsibility since Qasim is being detained unlawfully” said Hisaan.
In addition, she said that they requested the police to release Qasim from the unlawful detention immediately. ¬
The secretary general of JP, Ahmed Sameer said he believes that while a politician like Qasim Ibrahim is detained unlawfully, HRCM should initiate investigations on their own.
