Censure motions against the speaker and the deputy speaker of the parliament can only be submitted with signatures from 42 members from now on.
The amendment proposed by the general committee of the parliament was today passed with votes from 46 members who were present in the parliament chamber during the voting. After the amendment was passed, the speaker of the parliament Abdullah Maseeh said that the amendment will be in effect starting from that moment.
Hence the censure motions against the speaker and the deputy speaker will now be invalid.
