Deputy Leader of JP, Abdullah Riyaz have said that there is nothing that can be done to reform the affairs of the nation other than everyone working for it. He also said that the government is obstructing reform activities.
Abdullah Riyaz said that he got information that he is being charged with obstructing the duty of a law enforcement officer and that he has never done something like that. He said that he totally denies these allegations.
Riyaz said that the police is trying to arrest him and that received information that he will be arrested sometime today. “ Even if I am arrested and punished, I have never committed a crime” said Riyaz. He said that he came to know that the PG charged him, while he was in the parliament session today.
He said that the normal procedure in the police is to inform the person who is being charged if that person’s case is sent to PG. He said that however, in his case he was not informed about it. Furthermore, he said that the charges against him are politically motivated and that is because of the work he is doing with the opposition. He said that this work will not stop even if he is charged and that he will not backdown.
Abdullah Riyaz served in the police service for more than 25 years and he even filled the position of the Police Commissioner.
