Prominent lawyer Husnu Suood have said that it should be ensured that there is no political influence on the judiciary of Maldives.
Suood said that while major criminal cases a long time in the PG and in courts the cases of politicians are conducted swiftly.
"The investigation ended yesterday and was sent to PG yesterday. The case is sent to the court on the same day and the trial is held today. We see that cases of politicians are carried out at this super speed" said Suood
Suood said that when this becomes a norm people will question the judiciary.
In addition he said that the independent institutions should not act as peons and they should work responsibly.
Suood said that various problems in the judiciary should be corrected to earn the trust of the people abd trust can be gained by reforming the judiciary and showing it.
