JP leader Qasim Ibrahim have said that on 26thMarch he announced a collective decision made by the 4 opposition leaders and no matter how many charges are brought up against him there is nothing that can be done.
Speaking at gathering held by the opposition last night, Qasim said that he has not done anything unlawful and he did not say that he will offer something or do something for any individual. Qasim said that those who are working for reform should not do anything unlawful and if they do unlawful activities the situation will get worse. He said that hence he will not do anything unlawful.
In addition, he said that people had to start working for reform because things were not going in a transparent manner. “ Airport and bridge projects are useful projects. But if expenses are higher than it should be, then it is a problem. That is what I am worried about” said Qasim.
Qasim said that even before he stated that it is president Yameen he conducted most number of projects within the shortest period. He said that however, he did not know that there were so many suspected cases of corruption regarding the projects.
Qasim said that previously, if a land is leased for even tourism, the members in the committee cannot go out of the meeting room without making a decision and even cannot use the phone during the meeting.
“But is this how things are going on now ? People say that Feydhoo Finolhu was leased even while there were higher bids. If that is true isn’t this a big loss” questioned Qasim Ibrahim.
