Opposition coalition of the Maldives has met with the Indian Highcomissionerto Maldives this morning.
Speaking about the meeting, JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim said that they discussed about the political, social and economic problems in Maldives. Qasim said that India is always a close ally of the Maldives and notes the assistance India provides in terms of medicine and education. “Always we share information about Maldives with the government of India” said Qasim. Qasim noted that India was always a close friend in all the administrations of Maldives.
MDP PG Leader Ibrahim Muhammad Solih said that India always assists Maldives and especially in promoting democracy in Maldives. “ Hence we believe that we should share about the current ongoing happenings in Maldives with Indian ambassador in Maldives” said Ibu.
JP leader Qasim Ibrahim, MDP PG leader Ibrahim Muhammad solih, JP deputy leader Abdullah Riyaz, and Yumna Maumoon took part in the meeting.
Indian Foreign Secretory S.Jaishankar visited Maldives on last Wednesday and held meetings with President Yameen.
