High Court upholds the Criminal Court verdict on Imran’s jail sentence.

High Court has ruled to uphold the Criminal Court verdict to jail Sheikh Imran for 12 years.

Imran was charged for terrorism after a protest organized by AP in 2015 May Day turned violent. The court ruled that Imran is directly responsible for the unrest that was caused during the protest. Imran was sentenced to 12 years in on 16th March 2016.

At the moment, Imran is under house arrest due to repairs going on in jail. Imran’s case has been filed to UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.
