JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim has been taken back to Dhoonidhoo after the hearing held at the Criminal Court this morning.

His lawyer, Hisaan Hussein said that they asked many questions from the prosecution and they couldn’t reply. They requested for extra time to answer the questions.

The judge gave a 5-day period for the prosecution to prepare an answers. She said that the judge did not announce a date for the next hearing.

In addition, she said that when they asked the judges whether they received any new evidence regarding the ongoing trial, they judge said that they did not receive any. That means the only evidence or basis is on the speech Qasim has publicly given.

While Qasim’s case is being fast tracked through the courts, the police decided not to investigate a case of an MP who admitted to offering bribes saying that the “ACC is investigating the case”.
