Isn’t it corruption to ask to vote government candidates in return for development: Dr.Hussein
Deputy Leader of JP Dr.Hussein Rasheed have asked whether if it is not corruption to ask to vote for government candidates in return for development.
Speaking at the rally held by the opposition in Gaaf Dhaalu Thinadhoo last night, Dr.Hussein said asked whether if it is not corruption to promise development in return for votes.
Dr.Hussen said that, such statements and what Qasim said at Kunoozu on 26th of March has no difference. In addition, he said corruption is in the society to such an extent that a government MP said that it will not be possible to develop the country without corruption.
Furthermore, he said that the government should stop punishing Qasim Ibrahim and that he should be freed with all other political leaders. He said that until they are freed, the opposition will not stop their activities. Dr.Hussein said that votes can be gained by earning the love of the people and not by twisting their arms.
