High Court has scheduled a hearing to make a decision regarding JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim’s detention. According to his lawyerthe hearing will be held tomorrow at 1:30 pm.
Qasim was arrested on 20th April for the second time without following the procedure required when arresting a parliament member. On 21stApril, the court remanded Qasim into police custody for a period of 15 days. On 23rd April the case was appealed at High Court.
The first hearing of the appeal case was held on 30th April but ended up without a decision . This the first time in the history the court delayed a verdict on such a case.
A lot of people expressed concerns when High Court ended yesterday’s hearing without making a decision regarding Qasim’s detention.
