Faisal Naseem, MP for Kaashidhoo constituency tells police that trying to get more parliament members is something political parties should do.
Faisal made this statement after he was summoned to the police this morning to obtain information regarding Qasim Ibrahim’s investigation. Faisal said that the police asked whether JP was trying to get 42 members on the opposition coalition and he said that he told them that he does not know anything about it.
Faisal said that police also asked him about the recipient of aids by Qasim Ibrahim and Villa Foundation. He told the police that since that it has nothing to do with him, he never asked for that information from Qasim.
Furthermore, Faisal said that the police asked various questions regarding the ongoing investigation of Qasim Ibrahim. He said that the police asked if anyone orders to carry out specific tasks in the parliament.
All political parties instruct their parliament members to do specific things in the parliament through whip lines and by other means. It should be noted that JP issues the fewest number of whip lines. In most cases JP gives the opportunity for MP’s to vote however they like.
JP is a well-managed party and all decisions of the party are documents. Faisal said that he told the police that all actions of the parties are discussed with the relevant bodies of the party.
