Vice President of the Elections Commission have said that it is the parliament which failed the amendment proposed by EC to ban writing on the ballot paper.
Speaking to Miadhu News, Akram said that the Commission is concerned about voters writing and drawing on the ballot paper. He said that, the EC tried to ban it through legislation because of these concerns.
Akram said that the amendment was failed by the parliament and all parties were involved in it. He said that he does not believe it should have been done.
It is likely that some voters might put a sign on the ballot papers as proof of voting to a specific candidate.
