King Salman Bin Abdul Azeez of Saudi Arabia has donated 50 metric tons of dates to the people of Maldives.
In a ceremony held at Saudi Embassy today, the Deputy Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Matric Abdullah Ahdhausary officially signed the agreement donating the dates to the Maldives. Islamic Minister Dr.Ahmed Ziyad Baqir signed on behalf of the government of Maldives.
The deputy ambassador said that the dates are being donated to the government and it is the government that will decide how to distribute them. King Salman donates 50 metric tons of dates to the Maldives every year.
