President Yameen have said that Ahmed Shaheer the MD of STO is in Saudi Arabia to sign an agreement with ARAMCO to buy crude oil for STO.
Speaking at the rally held last night by PPM at the industrial village, the president said that ARAMCO has agreed to supply Maldives with crude oil and now Shaheer is in Saudi Arabia to sign the agreement. He said that, when Maldives gets crude oil at a cheap price, the electricity tariffs will be low and everyone will benefit from it.
STO MD Ahmed Shaheer and CFO of STO Muhammad Mihaad went to Riyadh last Tuesday. It was previously said that a Singaporean company will refine the crude oil purchased by STO.
