The people have said what they want – The next step is accepting it : Dr.Hussain
Deputy Leader of JP, Dr.Hussain Rasheed Hassan have said that the people have said what they want in the local council elections yesterday and the next step for the government is to listen to the people and accept what they say.
Speaking to the press at Kunooz today Dr.Hussain said that the president said that the vote will show what the people wants and now it is clear what the people want.
Dr.Hussain said that the people are not happy about the sudden changes brought to the law and they are not happy with the price changes in staple food and electricity. He said that the people also showed that they do not want to sell land from Maldives to foreigners.
He further said that the people also revealed that they are against the injustices of the government against political leaders and also that they are against the corruption which is rampant in the current administration.
In addition, he said that some people complained that government offices forced their staffs to vote in a certain way. Dr.Hussein thanked the people for saying no to the government despite all this pressure from the government.
