STO to hold annual general assembly on 30thMay, with the introduction of electronic voting

STO has decided to hold annual general assembly on 30th May at Dharubaaruge. In the assembly votes will be cast electronically for the first time in Maldives.

Speaking to the press at the head office of STO, the MD of STO Ahmed Shaheer said that annual general assembly is one of the most important event of STO and hence they announced the date of the assembly well in advance so that most number of shareholders can attend the meeting.

Shaheer also inaugurated a website specially designed for this year’s assembly. Shaheer said that the website will have all the necessary information required for the assembly. In addition, he said that the shareholders who want to take part in the meeting has the opportunity to register for the meeting till 25th of May. He said that the forms for registration will be available from STO counter and also it can be submitted online. “Hence this year registration will be very easy” said Shaheer.

Those who want to send proxies can do it till 29th of this month. The electronic voting system that will be used in the general assembly was designed by staffs of STO. Shaheer said that 3 members form the public has asked to be directors on the board. The voting procedure was publicized on the website of STO, twitter and Youtube.
