Qasim’s lawyers will get just one hour with him per day : A huge challenge for his legal team : Sameer

Secretory General of JP, Ahmed Sameer have said that JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim’s lawyers can meet Qasim only for one hour per day from yesterdaycand this will be a huge challenge for his legal team to prepare the defense.

Sameer said that the government is changing regulations like this to intimidate Qasim Ibrahim and to pass a sentence on him no matter what. “ Even now there are three different charges against him and three trials are going on at the same time. Then how can they do it. Is one hour enough for all these things?” questioned Sameer.

Sameer said that he believes that this changes was brought so that it will be hard for his lawyers to work on his defence. He said that Qasim is not serving a sentence and hence the government taking such actions to prevent his legal team from working efficiently is a matter of great concern for JP and Qasim’s supporters.

“This administration brings changes like this spontaneously. If they want to “blast” someone they change the laws. We should be worried” said Sameer.

Sameer said that the opposition leaders are being jailed for voicing out against these issues.
