Don’t want any amount of corruption in any projects conducted by the government: Vice President
Vice President of the Maldives, Abdullah Jihaad have said that he does not want any amount of corruption in any projects conducted by the government.

Speaking at a conference held by the Islamic University to raise awareness on corruption, the Vice President said that the government is conducting various projects and the government does not want to be suspected of corruption in any of these projects. Jihaad said that the anti-corruption commission should work efficiently and take swift action. He said that the criminal justice system would be perfect when actions are taken in this manner.

Previously a member of the ruling party said that the country can be developed with corruption only. The Vice President said that the country will be developed without corruption and the government’s policy is to develop the nation without corruption. He said that when taking action in cases of corruption the relevant institutions should be impartial.

However, the police have refused to investigate the parliament member who claimed to have distributed bags of money. No institution has taken action against the MP so far.

Even ACC have not revealed if they have taken any action against him.
