JP leader Qasim Ibrahim has been released from his detention under the order from Criminal Court.

In the last remand hearing, the court ordered the police to find evidence against Qasim if they want to extend his remand for a second time. Police took Qasim Ibrahim into the Criminal Court after using a police vehicle to block the view from the journalists.
Former state minister for Tourism, Ahmed Shameem said that the police do not want to show Qasim being taken into the Criminal Court, because the people will be emotionally affected by that scene.
Shameem said that Qasim has always been a generous person to everyone, people will be in tears to see Qasim being oppressed like this. Shameem said that even though the police is not showing these scenes, the people are shedding tears for Qasim even now.
