National conference on corruption concludes after calling to stop corruption as loud as they can. The conference was organized by Anti-Corruption Commission of Maldives and the Islamic University of Maldives.
The conference was concluded after passing a resolution to stop corruption. The participants of the conference said that a resolution cannot stop corruption. However, it can be stopped by taking necessary actions and by eradicating practices that encourages corruption.
The participants noted the importance of taking swift action in corruption cases. However they did not identify a way that can make this happen. Sheikh Abdul Azeez Hussein said that corruption cannot be stopped by asking to stop it while committing corrupt acts. In addition, the sheikh said that if teachers do not pray then the students wont pray either no matter how much they are asked to pray. Hence, he said that everything can be done by leading with example.
