Faarish Maumoon have said that his passport is still withheld and that he was unable to leave the country today.
MP for Dhiggaru, Faaris said that he went to the airport to depart to India and he was notified about the status of his passport after he even completed the immigration procedure. He said that previously he was informed about a travel ban from 29th March to 28th April. Faaris was planning to visit Bangalore to see his aunt who is undergoing treatment in Bangalore. He planned to return the next day.
He said that this intimidation extremely saddens him as he was planning to leave the country to attend to a family matter. In addition, he said that the immigration officer informed that his passport is being withheld with an order from the Criminal Court.
Immigration authorities have now confiscated Faaris Maumoon’s passport.
