Home Minister Azleen Ahmed have said that the president is doing a lot of work to provide electricity at an affordable rate in the islands.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference of powerhouse heads, organized by STELCO, the minister said that the government is talking with relevant authorities to reduce elect tariffs. He said that the people have high hopes for basic services like this but the resources have not been increased to meet these high expectations. He said that the government is working to make these services more affordable.
Azleen said that the electricity tariffs will be cheaper by investing in renewable sources of energy such as solar farms and windmills.
Heads from all powerhouses of STELCO are taking part in the conference. They will discuss on ways to improve their services.
