Speaking at a gathering held by the opposition coalition last night, Qasim said that there will be stability and prosperity in the nation when all state institutions act within the boundaries set by the law.
He said that the constitution allows the institutions to work independently and not to follow unlawful orders. Qasim said that hence, the institutions should work in accordance with the laws and in a just and an impartial manner.
“The institutions will be valued by the people when they work in accordance with the law. All the institutions should remember this. Then only they can earn the trust of the people” said Qasim.
In addition, he said that the people have clearly said no to injustices and oppression and government can also get the people’s support only through just means. He also said that the head of the state institutions are humans and any human can make a mistake but if a wrong is committed it should be corrected instead of oppressing others. Qasim said that even Allah ordered human beings to act in this manner.
He further said that the people will not be unaware forever and they will become empowered and that the government should accept this. In addition, Qasim said that if people in the top do not have integrity there are mechanisms in the constitution which can be used to remove these people from these positions. He said that this work done to remove people from these positions in accordance with the law is lawful and it cannot be made unlawful.
