MIFCO limits the sale of tuna cases to one per person with the increase in demand .
A media official of MIFCO said that new shipments are on the way and they had to control it because they feared some might buy excessively and that they might run out of stock before the shipment arrives.

Mifco said that there is a new shipment already on the way to Male’ and they controlled the stock till they receive the new shipment.

The official said that even though MIFCO sells with a discount to retail shops, it does not benefit the customers. He said that now MIFCO prioritizes in providing tuna cans to the people at affordable prices.

A case of tuna in oil is sold for 670 Rufiyaa. Previously it was sold for 779 Rufiyaa and hence it is 109 Rufiyaa cheap now. Case of tuna in brine is now sold for 635 Rufiyaa and it was sold for 739 Rufiyaa previously. A can of tuna in oil is now sold for 14.50 Rufiyaa which was previously sold for 16.50 Rufiyaa. A can of tuna in brine is now sold for 13.75 Rufiyaa and it was previously sold for 15.75 Rufiyaa. Hence 2 Rufiyaa was decreased from both the types of tuna.

According to MIFCO, they will sell at this price till 30th June. Chairman of MIFCO Ahmed Shaheer said that they will reduce price of MIFCO products for Ramadan. Since MIFCO was made a subsidiary of STO MIFCO has seen rapid development.
