ADK hospital has decided to start a tobacco cessation clinic for free. In a ceremony held at the hospital today, the MD of the hospital Ahmed Afaal said that the clinic will be open from 10:00 to 12:00 every Saturday starting from the next Saturday.
Afaal said that the service will be free of charge. He said that many countries in the world are trying to make their countries a no smoking country starting from a specific date. He said that Australian government is trying to pass a legislation that will prevent sale of cigarettes to anyone who becomes 18 after the year 2018.
He said that smoking can be stopped when large amounts of people campaign for it. He said that anti-smoking campaigns should be increased in Maldives.
