Ooredoo will continue to operate in the Maldives : Home Minister
Home Minister Ahmed Azleen have said that Ooredoo will continue to operate in Maldives and that he is sure of that.

Tweeting after meeting with the deputy CEO of Ooredoo, Mr.Najeeb Khan, the minister said that Ooredoo assured that the business ties with Ooredoo and Maldives will remain. However, he did not reveal any other details.

Home Ministry oversees the Communication Authority of Maldives and the minister met with Ooredoo on this regard. The meeting was also attended by the Chief Executive of Communication Authority of Maldives.

Ooredoo Maldives is a subsidiary of Ooredoo group which is a company based in Qatar. The state of Qatar is a major shareholder of Ooredoo group. Other shareholders include the royal family of Qatar.

Previously the government said that even though Maldives suspended diplomatic relations with Qatar, there will be no change with regards to economic ties with Qatar.
