Russian officials have stated that they have killed the leader of ISIS, Aboobakr Al-Bagdhadi. They said that he was killed in an airstrike conducted on 28th May.
The officials stated that before the attack, they checked Baghdadi’s whereabouts and that he was attending a meeting with 300 senior officials of ISIS.
However, the United States of America has stated that the reports of his death are unconfirmed.
ISIS is a terrorist organization which is active in Syria and Iraq. The group has strong holds in Raqqa of Syria and bordering towns of Iraq and Syria. However, efforts by Russia and USA has diminished the power of the terrorist group.
