Foreign Minister Asim returns to Maldives
Foreign Minister Asim have returned to Maldives after his official visit to Indonesia. During his visit, he met with Indonesian Foreign Minister H.E Ratno Massudi and discussed on strengthening the ties between the two nations.

In this regard, they discussed to work together in tourism, fisheries, technical cooperation and to strengthen the trade links between the two nations.

Furthermore, they discussed to work more closely in the international arena especially within the UN system. The minister also met with the Maritime and Fisheries Minister of Indonesia and the Tourism Minister Arif Yahya of Indonesia.

Maldives established diplomatic relations with Indonesia in 1974. Both Maldives and Indonesia are famous tourist destinations. In recent times, number of Indonesians working in the tourism sector of Maldives has been increasing.

Minister Asim was accompanied to Indonesia by Bilateral Secretory of Foreign Ministry Ahmed Khaleel and Assistant Director at Foreign Ministry Ahmed Suzil.
