Fitr Eid was celebrated at Sosun Villa, in Sri Lanka. Sosun Villa is a social center run by the Embassy of Maldives in Sri Lanka for Maldivians living in Sri Lanka.
Eid festivities started with Eid Prayers held at Sosun Villa. Around 1200 people gathered for the prayer and the sermon was delivered in Dhivehi. There was a special Tea party after Eid prayers. After the tea there was a Bashi match among the women present at the center.
In addition a match was played between a men’s team and a women’s team. Other activities that are planned included football matches and handball matches.
Both Fitr Eid and Alha Eid are being celebrated at Sosun Villa since president Yameen assumed office.
