At about 1130 hrs on 02 Jul 17, MNDF Air wing alerted the Kadhdhoo based Helicopter IN 750 for medical evacuation of Mrs Siththi Ismail, aged 82 from Madifushi, Thaa Atoll. The patient had suffered crush injuries on her right hand (middle three fingers) with uncontrollable bleeding.The crew of the helicopter took off from Kadhdhoo at 1245 hrs on 02 Jul 17 in marginal weather conditions on account of prevailing monsoons.
The aircraft covered a distance of 35 nm and landed at a football field at Madifushi Island in Thaa Atoll at 1315 hrs. The stretcher bound patient was embarked along with a doctor and a family member. The helicopter then got airborne for Male covering a distance of 105 nm and landed at Velana International Airport, Male at 1430 hrs. The patient was subsequently transferred to medical staff at airport for further management at IGMH, Male.We wish Mrs Siththi Ismail a very speedy recovery.
