Opposition coalition have submitted a motion to impeach the speaker of the parliament with 45 signatories.
Speaking to the press at M.Kunooz the PG leader of MDP’s parliamentary group Ibrahim Muhammad Solih, said that they submitted this motion because of how the speaker of parliament is acting.
Iboo said that even if the government detains parliament members or intimidate them, they will be able to win the vote and two halves of the parliament is with the opposition coalition. He further said the speaker is influencing many procedures of the parliament and he revealed some of these acts by Speaker Maseeh.
Faaris Maumoon said that many problems the country is facing today is because the parliament is powerless and because the parliament has failed to hold the government accountable.
