Member of JP Ahmed Shaafiu will be summoned to the Criminal Court today.
Shafiu was arrested last night while he was coming out of Kunooz last night around at 2:00 am.
According to some sources Shafiu was arrested because he has close relations with MP for Isdhoo constituency Ahmed Rasheed. Shaafiu is from Laamu Fonadhoo. Some say that Shafiu was arrested after Ahmed Rasheed filed some complaints to the police. However he did not lodge any complaints regarding the forged signature.
Ahmed Rasheed was a signatory on the impeachment motion against parliament speaker Maseeh. However he said that his signature was forged.
Faaris Maumoonn said that all members signed in front of witnesses on their own. MP Riyaz said that police has the capability to check the validity of the signatures.
Meanwhile Ahmed Rasheed has lodged a complaint regarding the forged signature to the speaker of the parliament. People are questioning why he did not file a complaint to the police since police has the capability to investigate it.
