Former President Maumoon have stated that Qasim will never back down no matter how big the danger is.
Speaking at a rally held by the opposition coalition at Kunooz last night, Maumoon said that Qasim has been in reform movements since 1984. President Maumoon said that since he was the president that time he knew what was going on very well. “There relation between us is a long standing one. Through that I know how sincere he is” said Maumoon.
“How many times was he taken to the police station? How many times was he jailed ? How many times was he taken to court ? He did not take any of these things as a challenge to his work. He is working for the people and the country. That’s why I thank Qasim Ibrahim” said Maumoon.
In addition, Maumoon noted that Qasim fulfilled the role of the speaker of the special parliament sincerely. He said that everyone should accept the fact that Qasim is a very capable person.
“The current constitution was passed under the leadership of Qasim Ibrahim” said Maumoon. Maumoon also praised on how perfect the constitution is. He thanked Allah for being able to ratify the constitution.
