MP for Kinbidhoo constituency Abdullah Riyaz have said that if Supreme Court Decides that parliament members will lose their seat for switching their parties, then they will be really unhappy.
Speaking at a rally held at Kunooz last night Riyaz said that the AG filed a case to SC requesting to issue a ruling in which parliament members will lose their seat for switching the party and for voting against the party whip line. He made this statement based on a tweet made by a prominent lawyer.
Riyaz said that even previous decisions like this did not end so well and that he hopes that Supreme Court will not make such a decision. "I do not hope that to issue any unconstitutional ruling" said Riyaz.
Riyaz said that the judiciary and other institutions should handle the affairs of the state in accordance with the law. He said that if things go according to law no one will take out to the streets.
