Prominent Lawyer Maumoon Hameed has expressed concern for not investigating the parliament member who confessed to offering bribes while the police is investigating someone because he is suspected of offering bribes.
Maumoon made this statement in reference to MP Muhammad Ismail who stated that he distributed bags of cash. At the moment Police is investigating Muhammad Shafiu a member of JP because he is suspected of offering bribes.
A media official of police stated yesterday that offering bribes is a crime and it is the responsibility of the police to investigate such cases. They said that they take all cases seriously and will conduct impartial investigations.
