Maldives Police Service have stated that allegations about a plot to kill Adeeb is false.
Police said that all inmates will have protection in jail and that Adeeb is in protective custody. Two days back a photo of Adeeb's jail cell was revealed and police are now investigating the matter.
Adeeb is serving a jail sentence of 33 years. He is in jail for planning to assassinate President Yameen and for various corrupt activities.
