Indian Ambassador to Maldives, Akhilesh Mishra have stated that Tourism plays a huge role in strengthening friendly relations.
He made this statement while speaking at the opening ceremony of Vacation Expo held at National Art Gallery.
He said that he gives high priority to the tourism sector not only because it is a vital part of the economy of Maldives. He said that to strengthen relations between two countries it is important to visit the countries and tourism is a good opportunity for that.
Various company from both Maldives and abroad are taking part in the Vacation Expo. The purpose of the Expo is to provide more information about travel and tourism to people living in Maldives. The Indian Ambassador praised how Maldives is facing the challenges in the sector.
In this year’s expo companies form India, Thailand and many other countries are taking part. A special prize will be given after drawing a lot among visitors to the Expo. The Expo will be open from 14:00 to 18:00 and from 20:00 to 23:00 hours.
