Rector of Villa College, Dr.Anwar have said that there are better opportunities for higher education in Maldives than neighboring countries. Dr.Anwar said that for instance in Sri Lanka the quality of education in government colleges are good but private institutions are not as good. He said that most of the Maldivians are studying in colleges which are not so good.
Dr.Anwar said that quality institutions should be preferred than places where it is easy to get a degree. Dr.Anwar requested students to chose high quality institutions. Dr.Anwar said that there is no use in choosing ordinary universities.
In addition, Dr.Anwar requested students who study for Villa International High School not to choose ordinary universities.
Villa College provides scholarships for students of Villa International High School. Even though Villa College is not a university yet, it is the best university in Maldives according to many.
