Lawer Ali Zahir said that the trial of Abdullah Riyaz was one of the best trials seen in recent times. Ali Zahir said that everything was perfect and fair in the trial since the beginning.
He said that the judges considered everything presented by Abdullah Riyaz and when they released the verdict they referred to all the evidences submitted by Riyaz.
Abdullah Riyaz also talked in this regard. He said that now they have hope that justice can be attained from Maldivian courts. Many people are saying that this proves that the courts of Maldives are capable and accusations stating otherwise are baseless. People are saying that the judges of Maldives have the capacity to judge justly.
Meanwhile unconfirmed reports say that the chief judge of Criminal Court, Abdul Baary Yousuf is going to be removed from his seat. The state has also charging Qasim Ibrahim under three different charges. It is unclear how these cases are going to end now.
