Secretory General of JP, Ahmed Sameer have said that if parliament members lose seat for changing parties then JP should get their members.
Sameer said that many PPM members have left PPM after the AG filed a case to the SC requesting to issue a ruling that states that parliament members will lose their seat for leaving the party. Sameer said that hence, the only way they can retain those members in PPM is by backdating the verdict.
He said that he cannot rule out the court doing that and hence if they do that, then JP should get back the members who left JP.
In today’s hearing at the Supreme Court, AG Anil presented the case on behalf of the government. However Supreme Court has not released a verdict yet.
