PPM has called PPM parliament members who left PPM to return to PPM before they lose their seats. This call was made by MP Falaah of Inguraidhoo constituency during a press conference held today.
PPM members who took part in the press conference noted that no member should have the option to switch parties after they get elected through a party ticket. They said that, that option should not be available.
According to the members, changing the party is selling the soul and parliament members should not be selling their soul to the highest bidder. They said that, it should be stopped through a legal mechanism.
The members also noted that they will support the case submitted by the government to Supreme Court to issue a ruling that will prevent parliament members from crossing the floor. They noted that, it should have been done long time back.
However in today’s press conference no one talked about the members who joined PPM after getting elected from other parties.
