A one-day conference to strengthen trade relations between Maldives and Thailand has begun. The name of the conference is Business Match Making. The conference is being held at the National Art Gallery. Thirty-three companies from Thailand are taking part in the conference.
The Deputy Economic Minister Adam Thaufeeg said that a similar conference was held even last year and such meetings are very productive and beneficial for Maldivian businesses.
Adam Thaufeeg said that the government wants Maldivian businesses to get goods at the cheapest possible rates and hence meeting with the manufacturers directly will benefit Maldivian businesses. In addition he requested Maldivian businesses to attend the Business Match Making event at National Art Gallery and to get information about the available options.
The event is mainly targeted at construction industry, goods related to the tourism sector and other products of Thailand.
