MP for Kulhudhuhfushi Mohammed Nasheed have said that he does not believe that the Supreme Court can issue a ruling which will cause parliament members to lose their seats mid-term.
In a blog post on his own blog, Nasheed stated that the only way that can be done is by amending the constitution and make it applicable starting from the next term. Also, he said that if the parliament members cross the floors, then they can be asked to stand in a bi-election to see public sentiments. He said that it cannot be done in any other way.
Nasheed said that he does not believe that the rules of the game can be changed during the match.
