Out of the 130 million dollars given to Maldives by Kuwait Fund 70 million dollars were given during this administration: Munawwar
Finance Minister Munawwar have said that out of the 130 million dollars given to Maldives by Kuwait Fund so far, 70 million dollars were given during this administration.

Speaking at a ceremony held at STELCO today to sign a loan agreement to protect coasts of Fuvahmulah, the minister said that Kuwait Fund provides financial assistance to Maldives in several sectors. The minister highlighted the aid provided by Kuwait Fund for airport development project.

The minister said that since 1970 Kuwait Fund has given 130 million dollars to Maldives and this is a huge amount to a small country like Maldives. He said that this shows the good relations between the two countries.

Munawwar said that Kuwait Fund has given 70 million dollars during this administration and this is more than 50 percent of the total amount assistance given by Kuwait. This shows the close relations enjoyed by Kuwait and the government of President Yameen. Kuwait is ready to help Maldives” said the Minister.

Munawwar said that after assuming office the president gave special importance to strengthen relations with Arab countries.
