A pistol was found in house – Evidence can be manufactured against Faaris Maumoon : Maumoon
Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom have said that Faaris Maumoon did not do anything unlawful and also no evidence of any illegal activity can be shown.
He said that he is sure that Faaris did not bribe anyone. “A pistol was found from a house. Evidence can be manufactured” said Maumoon.
Maumoon expressed concerns about the police not investigating corruption scandals. Maumoon noted that an MP confessed to distributing money and another admitted to being offered a sum of 32 million Rufiyaa and yet they are not being investigated.
Maumoon said that the parliament members get a good salary and they do not have to be offered anything outside of that. He said that if they are offered anything else it should be investigated. Maumoon called the parliament members to remain sincere to their oath of office.
