Qasim Ibrahim’s lawyers have said that the Criminal Court has assured them of a swift response, when they requested the court to give Qasim permission to go abroad for treatment.
Speaking at a press conference held today at Kunooz, the lawyers said that they hope to get the permission sometime today. The lawyers said that Qasim will not flee the country and he even left the country while his case was going on and again came back. They said that Qasim never fled from Court and will never do anything unlawful.
In addition, Qasim is the only major businessman from Maldives who has all of his businesses based in Maldives and hence, it is most unlikely that he will flee Maldives.
