Jumhooree Party leader Qasim’s lawyers have requested the Supreme Court to allow Qasim to leave the country for treatment. The SG of JP, Ahmed Sameer said that the request was made by a letter sent to the Supreme Court.
Sameer said that Qasim’s condition has deteriorated and the doctors have informed that he cannot be treated from Maldives. He said that tests have to be made and such facilities are not available from Maldives. Sameer said that many people are concerned that Qasim is still not allowed to leave the country.
Qasim’s lawyers have said that he needs to take a cardiac scan and they requested the Criminal Court for permission to leave the country. However so far they have not responded to the requests made by Qasim Ibrahim.
